Dedicated server setup and saves
The official The Forest dedicated server is a free Windows tool on SteamCMD. Settings such as the server name, password, difficulty and save slot live in its config file, and every player needs the same game version as the server. To move an existing world, upload your save folder to the server and point the config at the right save slot. Back up before every major change, because a corrupted save is the most common way to lose a base.
