London, UK locationIn-house game panel500+ games

Physgun is a Rust and Garry’s Mod specialist that has grown into a 500+ game host. It runs its own hardware in London and Chicago, puts its main Rust and GMod plans on overclocked Ryzen 9 CPUs with DDR5 and NVMe, and manages everything through a panel it builds itself. Game servers start from £3.75/mo ($4.99).

Short answer

Is Physgun good?

Yes, particularly for Rust and Garry’s Mod communities that want a London server. Physgun owns its hardware in London, its main Rust plans run on overclocked Ryzen 9 9950X CPUs and its GMod plans on Ryzen 9 7900X, and the panel is built in-house with tools most hosts do not offer, such as a Rust wipe scheduler, a live server map and a GMod addon backdoor scanner. Support is human and available around the clock.

The trade-offs are clear too. There are only two locations (London and Chicago), prices are set in US dollars, the money-back window is 3 days, and the main Rust and GMod plans start at £14.94/mo ($19.87), which is more than budget hosts charge. If you want the cheapest possible server, look at our cheapest game server hosts instead.

Company

Who are Physgun?

Physgun was founded in 2022 by Anthony Szczurowski, a Garry’s Mod addon developer and server owner. The company says it now serves more than 50,000 customers across Garry’s Mod, Rust, s&box, Minecraft and other games. It trades as Infraly, LLC DBA Physgun and is based in the United States, which is why it bills in US dollars.

Its pitch is aimed at communities that already have players. Physgun says it measures performance under real load, builds its own control panel rather than licensing one, and ships engine-level tweaks for some games. It also says its team plays the games it hosts, so support conversations stay specific rather than generic.

Pricing

Physgun prices for UK players

Physgun has two kinds of game server. Rust, Garry’s Mod and s&box get fixed plans with no player slot limits. Every other game runs on a Gamebox: a server where you choose the CPU, memory and storage, which you can later switch to a different game from the panel. All prices below are Physgun’s regular monthly prices. Paying quarterly, semi-annually or annually costs less (up to 15% off on most games), but we compare monthly prices so every host is measured the same way.

Physgun locations: London for UK and European players, Chicago for North American players London, UK Pick this for players in the UK and nearby parts of Europe Owned and operated by Physgun Chicago, US Pick this for players in North America Owned and operated by Physgun
Two locations only. UK groups should choose London at checkout; there is no mainland Europe location.

What this means for UK players

For a UK community, London is the location to pick. Hosting in London keeps the connection short for players across Great Britain and Ireland, which matters most in fast games like Rust, Counter-Strike 2 and Garry’s Mod roleplay with many players. Physgun owns and runs the London hardware itself rather than renting space from a reseller.

The limit is choice. Physgun has no Frankfurt, Amsterdam or other mainland Europe location, so a group spread across Europe gets a longer route to London than it would with hosts that have several European locations. Physgun publishes a 99.9% uptime figure on its plans, and its service level agreement promises 99.99% uptime with account credit if it misses that.

Control panel

The Physgun Gamepanel

Physgun builds its own panel, and it is the strongest part of the service. The basics are all there: console, file manager, schedules, backups, databases, subusers, audit logs and live metrics. On top of that you get full SSH access and VS Code integration, so you can edit configs with proper developer tools if you want to.

Rust tools

One-click uMod and Codefling plugin installs, an automatic map and blueprint wiper, plugin hook timings and Rust God Tools, a live map for teleports, bans and airdrops.

Garry’s Mod tools

One-click GModStore addon installs, a backdoor scanner for addons, Steam Workshop sync with FastDL, live net-message stats and custom .dll modules allowed.

Switching games

A Gamebox can be switched to another game from the panel in a few clicks, as long as it meets that game’s minimum spec. A backup is offered first.

Moving from another host

The Server Importer copies your files and startup settings from your old host, so you do not have to upload everything by hand.

Servers are containerised, which is why Physgun allows mods and plugins that some hosts block. New servers are set up automatically after checkout and are usually online within minutes.

Support and refunds

Support, refunds and trial

24/7 human support

Tickets, live chat and Discord, around the clock, plus a Help Center with setup and troubleshooting guides.

3-day money-back

Full refund within 3 days of your first purchase. On renewals: full refund within 24 hours, or 50% within 3 days.

Free trial

A free 24-hour trial is available on Rust and Garry’s Mod servers.

Trustpilot

4.7 out of 5 from 159 reviews. The reviews Physgun quotes mostly praise its support and panel.

Worth knowing: 3 days is short. Some hosts we compare give 14 days, DatHost for example. Set your server up straight away so you can judge it inside the window, or start with the free trial if you play Rust or GMod.

Fit

Is Physgun the right host for you?

Good fit

A UK Rust or Garry’s Mod community that wants a London server, a capable panel and support that understands the game. Also groups that hop between games and like the idea of switching one Gamebox instead of buying new servers.

Think twice

Players spread across mainland Europe, anyone who wants to pay in pounds, and small groups on a tight budget. Physgun itself says it is not the best fit if you are just looking for the cheapest host.

FAQ

Physgun frequently asked questions

Is Physgun good for UK players?

Yes, as long as London suits your group. Physgun runs its own hardware in London, so UK players can host close to home, and every plan lists London as an option at checkout. It is a weaker fit if most of your players are in mainland Europe, because the only other location is Chicago.

Where are Physgun’s servers?

Physgun has two locations: London in the UK and Chicago in the US. It says it owns and operates the hardware in both, and you pick the location when you order.

How much does Physgun cost?

Game servers start from £3.75 ($4.99) a month for a 2GB Terraria plan and £4.13 ($5.49) for 2GB of Minecraft. Rust starts at £8.92 ($11.87) on the Micro plan and £14.94 ($19.87) on the Ryzen 9 9950X Starter plan. Physgun bills in US dollars, so the amount on a UK card moves a little with the exchange rate.

Does Physgun offer refunds?

Yes. There is a 3-day money-back guarantee on game servers: a full refund if you ask within 3 days of your first purchase. On renewals you get a full refund within 24 hours of the charge, or 50% within 3 days. You can also take a refund as account credit.

Does Physgun have a free trial?

Physgun offers a free 24-hour trial on Rust and Garry’s Mod servers. Other games do not have a trial, so the 3-day money-back guarantee is your safety net there.

Which games can I host on Physgun?

Over 500. Garry’s Mod, Rust and s&box have their own plans, and everything else runs on a Gamebox, a server you size yourself and can switch to another game from the panel.

Is DDoS protection included?

Yes. Physgun includes DDoS protection on every server, and filters traffic before it reaches your server.

What control panel does Physgun use?

Physgun uses its own Physgun Gamepanel, built in-house. It covers the console, files, schedules, backups, subusers and live metrics, and adds SSH and VS Code access plus game-specific tools such as a Rust wipe scheduler and a Garry’s Mod addon backdoor scanner.
