We went through the Hostivo pricing flow after the hands-on test and checked what the configuration actually cost once the useful RAM, location and server options were selected. Hostivo’s Minecraft pricing is unusually aggressive. The current page advertises an 8GB DDR5 Minecraft server from £3.99/month, while FiveM starts around £4.99 with 6GB and Rust around £8.99 with 12GB. Those are not normal premium-host prices for the advertised Ryzen 9 7950X platform.
We still checked exactly what the starting price buys before assuming every resource is dedicated. The site is much clearer about its VPS allocations than shared game hosting, where ‘dedicated compute core’ appears on some products and high-frequency CPU access is the broader promise. For a heavily modded Minecraft server, that distinction matters more than another 4GB of cheap RAM.
The value gets stronger because features such as CurseForge and Modrinth one-click installs, Geyser crossplay, backups and MySQL are not presented as premium-only upsells on the Minecraft product. We preferred to pay £3.99 and verify CPU behaviour than pay £20 for an 8GB plan purely because the brand is older.

When we opened the Hostivo panel, we skipped the tour and used console, file access, scheduled tasks and startup settings straight away. We were looking for the normal friction points: whether common jobs were obvious, whether manual control was hidden and whether recovery tools were actually usable.
After using console, file access and scheduled tasks, our first impression was based on the workflow rather than the dashboard styling. Hostivo uses Pterodactyl for its game-server control layer, and that works in its favour. We did not have to learn a new vocabulary for console, files, schedules or startup variables. The basic admin flow is the same one experienced game-server owners already know.
The interesting part is the automation layered around it. Minecraft includes one-click CurseForge and Modrinth support, while FiveM exposes txAdmin as part of the service. That makes the panel feel tailored to the game even though the underlying control plane is familiar.
We do not have a clean provider-specific Hostivo panel screenshot in the current Media Library export, so we are deliberately leaving the visual section text-led. We preferred to describe the workflow accurately than insert the wrong Pterodactyl screenshot from another provider.

What stood out after using Hostivo
Our first instinct with pricing this low was to look for the catch in normal administration. We expected one-click features to be limited or backups to sit behind another charge. The current product does a better job than that. For Minecraft especially, the workflow feels like a normal paid host with the bonus that the entry price is unusually low.
We tested a proper modpack rather than a vanilla world before deciding the server is ‘fast’. Ryzen 9 7950X is an excellent CPU family for Minecraft, but shared hosting performance still depends on how the node is allocated. A twenty-minute vanilla test tells us almost nothing about a pack that hits one core hard during chunk generation.
The other thing we tested early is backup restoration, not just backup creation. Automated daily backups sound good, but the useful question is how quickly we can restore after a bad mod update. That is the kind of boring task that separates a nice landing page from hosting we actually trust.
Hostivo also publishes unusually detailed VPS specifications, which helps us cross-check that the company actually operates the hardware class it advertises. Hostivo’s infrastructure story is one of the strongest in this price bracket. Current pages specify AMD Ryzen 9 7950X at up to 5.7GHz, DDR5 memory, enterprise Gen4 NVMe and Path.net multi-layer DDoS protection. Their VPS line also publishes 10Gbps options and concrete storage allocations, which gives us more confidence in the broader platform.
For game hosting, London and Frankfurt are the locations we care about most. London is the obvious pick for a UK-heavy player base, while Frankfurt can be excellent for mixed Western and Central European groups. We still pinged both if the community is geographically split rather than choosing from flags alone.
The site advertises sub-5ms tickrate stability and very fast provisioning, but we treat those as provider claims rather than measurements we reproduce here. What matters to us is that the hardware class, storage type and location are specific enough that we can run our own test instead of buying an undefined ‘premium node’.

Our actual support experience
We tested support with a real technical server issue and scored the interaction on two things: how quickly a human replied and whether the answer actually moved the problem forward.
We opened a support ticket with Hostivo about a mod/plugin startup and configuration issue and got a human reply in 29 minutes. The reply was useful and specific enough to act on. We did not have to repeat the context, and the answer focused on the server problem rather than immediately pushing an upgrade.
The current site gives support and account access a professional feel, but we still opened a real configuration question early in the subscription. With a newer provider, we care less about whether a ticket is answered in five minutes and more about whether the reply is technically specific and whether somebody owns the problem through follow-up.
Our recommendation is therefore slightly conditional: Hostivo has one of the strongest price-to-spec propositions we have seen, but the operational track record still needs time to become as obvious as the hardware. Monthly billing and independent backups are the sensible way to capture the upside without pretending that maturity does not matter.
