Apex Hosting

Apex hosting is big on Minecraft server hosting and offers a great service! Here is our unbiased review of Apex Hosting.

Ease of access

I am by no means a technology wizard but setting up a game server on Apex Hosting was a piece of cake! It was up and running within minutes and my girlfriend and I could enjoy our Minecraft world with ease. For the sake of the test, I tried setting up some mods by using one of their modpacks (Crafting Dead) and this was really simple thanks to their guides that help you step-by-step.

Some people commented on their site for the modpack that they had problems installing but I think this was resolved simply if they had just followed the step-by-step guide provided on the page. I would recommend you try and follow their guides when you set up a server to ensure you do it in the right order. I have no complaints and the server setup and modpack installation were smooth to complete and get running.

Server uptime and stability

We had an amazing server experience with Apex Hosting and played for the whole evening without any problems at all, but since me and my girlfriend both prefer playing lots of different games we got burned out after 4 days, and maybe our sample size is not big enough to give the complete picture on this.

We rented the smallest server available and we had no problems with any type of lag or server downtime, however, I think that you should always have the appropriate server size and capability for your use to avoid any server issues. If you are a crew of a lot of players then opting for a server that has high enough performance is going to be mandatory.

Pricing

The cheapest package of Apex Hosting for Minecraft was £6.60 for the first month and then you were billed £8.80 monthly after that. You can cancel at any time and if you choose to be billed quarterly you get a 10% discount.

Even though Apex Hosting does not offer the cheapest Minecraft hosting, we do think that they gave a lot of bang for the buck offering 2 GB of RAM on their cheapest servers and including some free mod packs.

Others’ Experience with Apex Hosting

Since we want to do a complete review we had to check out what other people thought of Apex Hosting and went to Trustpilot to look through their reviews, they have a Trustpilot score of 4.8, and the majority of the ratings mention their amazing support that is both fast, reliable and service minded.

The few reviews that said 1 star on Trustpilot weirdly enough complained that the support was bad and that they said that they had been overcharged. But from what I read on the reviews I am unsure of if they actually had been overcharged and contacted the support or if they just wrote an angry review.

The response from the Apex Hosting support to one of these reviews was the following citation.

“I am very sorry to hear about this, (name)! Our team tries out best to ensure that nothing like this can happen. With that, we always offer refunds for any issues like PayPal sending a duplicate payment and even offer full refunds up to 7 days after the service was purchased. It’s unfortunate to hear that you were not aware of that and reached out to PayPal directly.

If you’d like to give us a second chance, we’d be more than happy to offer you 2 months of free service as an apology for this inconvenience.”
