Hosts are sorted purely by the lowest monthly price we list for them, cheapest first. Features, hardware and support do not move anyone up or down this page.

Every price comes from our game guides, which take plans from each provider’s own pricing and order pages. Non-GBP prices are shown as approximate conversions.
Rankings are never sold

How to pay less for a game server
1. Size the server to your group
Most of the money goes on RAM and slots you never use. A small group on a vanilla world rarely needs the plan a 40-player modded server does, so start small and upgrade when you actually hit the limit.
2. Compare like for like
One host’s cheapest plan might be 2GB while another’s is 8GB. Our game guides note the RAM or slot count next to every price, so compare the plan you need, not just the headline.
3. Watch promo and renewal prices
Some hosts advertise a first-month or first-term price that rises on renewal. Check the regular monthly price before you commit to a longer term.
4. Mind short-rental pricing
Short rentals, such as 3-day billing, look cheap at a glance but usually cost more per month. We leave them out of our price rankings for that reason.
5. Use free trials and refund windows
Indifferent Broccoli has a 2-day no-card trial and SparkedHost a 1-day free trial. Kinetic Hosting, Wabbanode and LOW.MS have refund windows, so you can check performance before you are locked in.
6. Check VAT and currency at checkout
Many hosts price in USD or EUR, and some add VAT at checkout. A UK host billing in pounds can work out cheaper than a dollar price that looks lower.
7. Pay only for the hours you play
If your group only plays at weekends, a pay-per-use host such as RespawnHost (on our Stardew Valley guide) bills only while the server is running.

On the prices in our game guides, the lowest entry plan is AleForge at about £1.47 per month for its 2GB plan on Factorio. ScalaCube and SparkedHost also start from about £1.85 per month on some games. The cheapest host changes from game to game, so check the cheapest-by-game grid for yours.
Is cheap game server hosting good enough?
For a small group on a vanilla or lightly modded world, a cheap plan is often all you need. Busy servers, big mod lists and heavy games such as ARK or Rust need more RAM and better CPUs, and the cheapest plan can struggle there.
Why isn’t the cheapest host your #1 pick?
This page ranks by price only. Our overall rankings in each game guide also weigh hardware, UK and EU locations, backups, refunds and support, so a slightly more expensive host can be the better buy.
