Best StarRupture Server Hosting UK (Nov 2026)

Read this before you rent: on 20 October 2026 Creepy Jar announced that it is ending support for StarRupture dedicated servers. Rented servers keep working on version 0.3.5, which stays on its own Steam branch, but they will not get Update 3 or anything after it. If your group is happy on 0.3.5, a hosted server still gives you a 24/7 factory and proper backups. We compared 25 hosts that still sell a StarRupture server on regular monthly price, RAM, UK locations and backups.

Quick verdict: LOW.MS is our #1, with 10GB as standard and London from £5.06/mo ($6.73). Indifferent Broccoli has uncapped RAM and a free trial for £7.51/mo ($9.99), and Host Havoc adds offsite backups in London from £7.52/mo ($10.00). Pay month to month and keep a copy of your save.

Methodology

How we compared StarRupture server hosts

We compared each host’s live StarRupture product on what matters for a four-player factory that may stay on version 0.3.5: enough memory for a growing base, a UK or nearby European location, downloadable backups, month-to-month billing, refund terms and the regular price. Hosts that stopped selling StarRupture were removed. Prices come from each host’s public plan page, converted at £1 = $1.33. Our full process is on how we compare.

Memory10–12GB for a persistent factory.
BackupsDownloadable saves you control.
UK locationLondon first, then nearby Europe.
Flexible billingMonth to month, no long lock-in.
PriceRegular monthly price, not first-month deals.
Refunds and trialsA low-risk way to try a host.

The 25 best StarRupture server hosts, reviewed

Each review covers the plan that suits a StarRupture group, what it costs and the detail that decides whether it fits your factory.

LOW.MS

BackupsCloud backups
Refund / trial5-day money-back

LOW.MS gives every StarRupture server 10GB of memory as standard, with room to go up to 30GB, and hosts it in London from £5.06/mo ($6.73). That matters more than slots here: the game never goes above four players, but a mature factory keeps asking for memory.

Cloud backups and downloadable saves are the key feature right now. With dedicated-server support ending at Update 3, you want a host that lets you keep the world on version 0.3.5 and take a copy of the save whenever you like. A five-day money-back guarantee applies.

Support, billing and the control panel are covered in our full LOW.MS review.

Pros
  • London
  • 10GB as standard
  • Downloadable backups
Cons
  • Slot pricing, not RAM tiers

Refund / trial7-day refund

Indifferent Broccoli sells StarRupture as a single four-player plan for £7.51/mo ($9.99) a month with uncapped RAM under a fair-use policy, so a factory that grows from a few drills to a full production chain never hits a memory tier.

There is a two-day free trial without a card and a seven-day refund. Its public Docker setup also warns against exposing the old Server Manager TCP port, which is the safer way to run this server. Its locations are in mainland Europe.

Support, billing and the control panel are covered in our full Indifferent Broccoli review.

  • Uncapped RAM
  • 2-day free trial
  • Security-minded setup
Cons
  • No London location shown

Host Havoc runs StarRupture in London from £7.52/mo ($10.00) a month for the four slots the game supports, with offsite backups, DDoS protection and 24/7 support.

Its guides cover reinstalling the server cleanly, and offsite backups mean you can always pull a copy of the world before a branch change. It runs on hardware it owns.

Dedicated-server support is ending: what it means

StarRupture launched into Early Access on 6 January 2026 with dedicated servers as an experimental feature. On 20 October 2026 Creepy Jar announced that it is ending active support for them to focus on single-player and co-op listen servers. Nothing breaks today: dedicated servers run version 0.3.5, the hotfix from 5 October, and a rented server works as normal.

The change arrives with Update 3, Custom Game, which went onto the Public Test Branch on 29 October with no release date yet and no dedicated server. From then on the main game will not support dedicated servers, while 0.3.5 stays available on a separate Steam branch without further updates. Every player then has to switch to that branch to join a rented server.

That leaves two choices. If you want Update 3, plan to play on a co-op session hosted by one of your group; our guide on how to join a StarRupture server with friends walks through both routes. If you are happy on 0.3.5, a rented server still gives you 24/7 access and backups. Either way, pay month to month and take a copy of your save first. LOW.MS, GTX Gaming and Host Havoc make that easy.

Plan sizing

Size a StarRupture server by RAM, not player slots

The game is built for up to four players, so slot counts tell you little. Factories, however, keep growing, and Creepy Jar has not published an official server memory table. Provider guidance points to this:

Factory stageSensible RAMNotes
New world4GBFine for early drills and a small base
Persistent world10–12GBOur comparison range for regular play
Large factory15–30GB+Watch real usage as production grows

LOW.MS ships 10GB as standard, Indifferent Broccoli removes the cap, and Kinetic Hosting publishes a clear ladder from 4GB upward. Our hardware requirements guide explains the CPU and storage side.

Configuration

DSSettings.txt and the old Server Manager port

Configure the server through DSSettings.txt and expose only the gameplay UDP port where possible. A community security project reported a remote-control issue in the older in-game Server Manager TCP path, and Indifferent Broccoli’s setup warns about exactly this. It is community research rather than an official advisory, but closing that path costs nothing.

Save settings need care too: StartNewGame should be switched off once the world exists, and LoadSavedGame should point at your save, or a restart can create a fresh world. Back up before you change startup settings.

Update history

What Updates 1, 2 and 3 changed

Update 1 in April 2026 enlarged the playable area and added new zones, ziplines, a Development Station and more than 40 items and recipes. Update 2: Quality of Life arrived on 2 September with copy-paste building, multi-deconstruct and a Drone Roundabout overhaul, and hotfixes 0.3.2 to 0.3.5 followed through early October.

Update 3 adds more than 20 world settings, such as switching off building stability, passive enemies and fire-wave frequency. Those settings will only reach co-op games, not dedicated servers on 0.3.5.

Self-hosting

Self-hosting vs renting a StarRupture server

The StarRupture dedicated server is free on Steam as app 3809400, but it is a Windows build, and after Update 3 you will have to keep it on the 0.3.5 branch yourself.

FAQ

StarRupture server hosting FAQ

Is StarRupture still supporting dedicated servers?

Not for new updates. Creepy Jar ended active support on 20 October 2026. Dedicated servers keep running version 0.3.5, which stays on a separate Steam branch after Update 3, but receives no further updates.

Will my rented server get Update 3?

No. Update 3 is for single-player and co-op listen servers. A rented server stays on 0.3.5, and players have to switch to that branch to join.

What is the best StarRupture server host in the UK?

LOW.MS is our #1, with 10GB as standard, London and cloud backups. Our LOW.MS review covers it in depth.

How many players can join a StarRupture server?

Up to four. Configurators offering more slots do not change the game’s limit.

How much RAM does a StarRupture server need?

4GB for a new world, 10–12GB for a persistent factory and 15GB or more for a very large one.

Which StarRupture hosts have UK servers?

17 of the 25 hosts here show a London or UK location, including LOW.MS, Host Havoc and GTX Gaming.

What is the cheapest StarRupture server hosting?

G-Portal starts at £4.00/30 days ($5.32) for two slots, and Kinetic Hosting has 4GB for £3.75/mo ($4.99). See our cheap game server hosting guide.

Can I try a StarRupture server for free?

Indifferent Broccoli has a two-day free trial without a card.

Should I pay for a long plan?

No. With dedicated-server support ending, pay month to month and keep a downloaded copy of your save.

Is the StarRupture dedicated server free?

Yes. It is free on Steam as app 3809400, but it runs on Windows and you manage updates, ports and backups yourself.
