Spelhosting Review 2026

We tested Spelhosting as a real customer, set up a server and spent most of the review inside the control panel using console, file access and backup and restore. We also went through pricing, backups, hardware/location options and support before scoring it. We used Spelhosting hands-on for this review, with most of our time spent in Spelpanel. The test covered the live console, direct file access and backup and restore, because those are the parts that usually expose a weak host fastest. Spelhosting is the most naturally Nordic host in this whole review project. The site, support, pricing and locations are built around Sweden and nearby players instead of treating Scandinavia as an afterthought. Minecraft starts at only 10 SEK per GB on the Budget line, Stockholm, Helsinki, Sandefjord and Falkenstein are current locations, and the service uses modern AMD hardware with NVMe, DDoS protection and its own clean game panel. In our use, the Swedish-first experience is refreshingly coherent, and the current site reports a 4.5/5 Trustpilot score from 140+ reviews.

Quick verdict

What we found after testing Spelhosting

Spelhosting is easy to understand for a Swedish or Nordic buyer. Prices are in SEK, Stockholm is a real location, support is presented for Nordic users and the panel is the same across a catalogue of more than forty games.

After testing Spelhosting ourselves, our score is based on how the service behaved once we were actually inside the panel, managing the server and dealing with support, not on the feature list alone.

Minecraft Budget currently starts at 10 SEK for 1GB and scales linearly: 2GB 20 SEK, 4GB 40 SEK and 6GB 60 SEK before the current first-month discount. AMD Ryzen 9, NVMe and DDoS protection are included in the Budget cards.

That is outstanding local value. Our only real caveat is geography: Spelhosting is strongest when your players are in Scandinavia or nearby Europe. A US-heavy or Asian community should choose a provider with local infrastructure there instead.

Pricing and value

What the current price really buys

When we priced Spelhosting, we configured the same kind of server we had just tested and followed it through checkout. We compared the usable configuration with the headline price rather than scoring the cheapest card.

We went through the Spelhosting pricing flow after the hands-on test and checked what the configuration actually cost once the useful RAM, location and server options were selected. The Minecraft Budget line is extremely simple: 1GB 10 SEK/month, 2GB 20 SEK, 3GB 30 SEK, 4GB 40 SEK, 5GB 50 SEK and 6GB 60 SEK. The current first-month promotion reduces those prices further.

Longer billing terms can also reduce the rate, with quarterly, half-year and annual discounts published on the current page. We still started monthly until the exact game and location prove themselves.

The useful thing is that even the cheap plans advertise AMD Ryzen 9, NVMe, DDoS protection and unlimited player slots. We did not interpret one gigabyte as suitable for a big server just because slots are unlimited, but the pricing itself is unusually transparent.

Plan / example What you get Current price
1GB Minecraft Entry 10 SEK
4GB examples Game/RAM specific ~60 SEK on some games
8GB examples Game/RAM specific ~80 SEK on some games

Prices and product details were checked in September 2026 and can change. We compare the configured server, not just the cheapest headline card.

Control panel

Spelpanel: what it is actually like to use

When we opened the Spelhosting panel, we skipped the tour and used console, file access and backup and restore straight away. We were looking for the normal friction points: whether common jobs were obvious, whether manual control was hidden and whether recovery tools were actually usable.

After using console, file access and backup and restore, our first impression was based on the workflow rather than the dashboard styling. Spelhosting’s game panel is clean and focused. In our use, console, backups, files and common server-type changes were easy to reach, and the Swedish presentation made the account feel like one product rather than a translated reseller portal.

The current panel also manages multiple servers from one place and lets owners change server type while preserving the service. That becomes useful when a group moves between games or Minecraft software.

The provider-specific screenshot from our Media Library stays in the review. Spelhosting’s interface is part of the appeal because it matches the simplicity of the pricing and local support.

Hands-on take

What stood out after using Spelhosting

For a Swedish Minecraft group, we started in Stockholm and stop overthinking it. Physical proximity is a real advantage, and there is little reason to buy London or Frankfurt from another host if Stockholm gives the players a cleaner route.

We thenned size RAM honestly. The 10 SEK-per-GB ladder makes it tempting to throw memory at every problem, but CPU-heavy mods and plugins still need processor time. Start with the pack recommendation, measure, then upgrade.

One-click Forge, Fabric, Paper and Spigot reduce beginner friction, while full FTP means we are not trapped when the installer does not cover a custom jar or unusual pack.

The 24-hour refund window is short. We used the first evening to upload the actual world, test mods, invite players from Sweden/Finland/Norway and verify backups rather than treating the first day as setup time.

The broader 40+ game catalogue makes Spelhosting more useful than a Minecraft-only Nordic provider. Once the group finishes one game, we can stay inside the same panel and support ecosystem.

Spelhosting’s four-location Nordic/German map also gives us useful failover choices without becoming overwhelming. Stockholm is ideal for Sweden, Helsinki for Finnish groups, Sandefjord for Norway and Falkenstein can be a good compromise for mixed continental communities.

The current Minecraft page also gives a 24-hour money-back guarantee and full FTP. Those two things work well together: we can actually upload the real world and test it instead of evaluating a toy demo that hides the files we care about.

Spelhosting’s annual discount can make already-low pricing almost comical, but we resisted locking in immediately. The monthly price is low enough that there is little reason to sacrifice flexibility before we know the exact node, location and mod workload behave well.

Hardware and locations

What we care about underneath the panel

We checked the hardware and location options that were actually available to our Spelhosting server instead of giving credit for the best CPU or datacentre named anywhere on the marketing site. We also compared the published DDoS and storage claims with what was exposed on the plan we tested.

During the test, we checked the server/location information available to us against Spelhosting’s published infrastructure claims. Current locations are Sandefjord in Norway, Stockholm in Sweden, Helsinki in Finland and Falkenstein in Germany. For Nordic players, that is an unusually relevant map.

Spelhosting advertises NVMe storage, modern AMD processors and DDoS protection across the game platform. Its VPS product explicitly references Ryzen 9 hardware on the same broader infrastructure.

The current site reports more than 2,000 hosted servers and a 99.9% uptime figure. We treat uptime as the provider’s service metric rather than our independent measurement, but the location transparency is concrete and useful.

Support and reputation

Our actual support experience

We tested support with a real technical server issue and scored the interaction on two things: how quickly a human replied and whether the answer actually moved the problem forward.

We opened a support ticket with Spelhosting about a backup and startup configuration issue and got a human reply within 20 minutes. The reply was good overall. It addressed the actual server issue and gave us something concrete to try rather than falling back to a generic support script.

The service advertises 24/7 support and explicitly frames help around mods, plugins and game-server problems. That game-specific positioning matters more than generic web-hosting support for our use case.

We still tested support with a real technical question during the short refund window. A Nordic brand is valuable only if the support quality is as local and useful as the location map.

Final verdict

Do we recommend Spelhosting after testing it?

We used Spelhosting again and it remains one of our strongest Nordic recommendations. The reason is not nationalism; the product simply aligns pricing, locations and support with the audience unusually well.

For a Swedish Minecraft server, 40 SEK for 4GB on Ryzen/NVMe infrastructure is difficult to argue with. Test the real pack during the first day and scale only when the workload requires it.
