🇬🇧 UK GUIDE · UPDATED APRIL 2026 · v1.0 + SHIFTING SANDS DLC

Best Soulmask Server Hosting UK 2026

Soulmask hit v1.0 on 10 April 2026 with the massive Shifting Sands Egypt DLC. It’s one of the most RAM-hungry survival games available — the server process alone needs 12GB just to boot. We’ve compared all 24 providers with a focus on UK server locations and honest specs.

⚔️ What makes Soulmask hosting different in 2026
Needs 16GB RAM minimum

The server process starts by consuming ~12GB of RAM before a single player connects. Community consensus: 16GB is the real floor. Don’t buy a plan with less.

Game modes on servers

Only Survival Mode works on dedicated servers right now. Tribe Mode and Warrior Mode are temporarily disabled for dedicated servers — CampFire Studio confirmed this.

Two maps = two servers

Cloud Mist Forest (base map) and Shifting Sands (DLC) run as separate server instances. Cross-map travel requires setting up a cluster — your host needs to support this.

🇬🇧 UK location matters

With most UK players, a London server cuts ping from 80–150ms to under 20ms. We only recommend providers with confirmed UK/London nodes in our top 3.

Best Soulmask server hosting in the UK 2026

Ranked by RAM provision, UK/London server location, single-core CPU performance, and value. All three have confirmed London nodes.

LOW.MS Gold Pick 🇬🇧 London UK
Best overall UK — Ryzen 9 9950X · scalable RAM tiers · 5-day refund
£10.34/mo
10–30GB RAM tiers · Ryzen 9 9950X · DDR5
Ryzen 9 9950X DDR5 RAM 🇬🇧 London RAM tiers: 10/15/20/25/30GB Steam Workshop mods 5-day refund 4.8★ Trustpilot
💡 LOW.MS explicitly documents Soulmask’s RAM needs: “The server process needs around 11–12GB of RAM just to start, and usage grows as the world develops. The community widely recommends at least 16GB for stable operation.” They offer upgradeable RAM tiers (10, 15, 20, 25, 30GB) so you can scale as your world grows.

For UK players, LOW.MS is the standout recommendation. Their London data centre keeps latency well under 20ms for most of Great Britain, and the Ryzen 9 9950X hardware delivers the single-core clock speed that matters for Soulmask’s NPC AI and world simulation. Critically, LOW.MS is one of the few providers who are honest about how much RAM Soulmask actually needs — and they offer explicit RAM upgrade tiers rather than hiding behind vague “high performance” marketing. At £10.34/mo entry with a 5-day refund, it’s the most confident pick for a UK Soulmask server. Steam Workshop mod support is included, and they’ve published dedicated Soulmask guides covering cross-map clustering, GameXishu.json configuration, and the PvP raid window setup.

⚠ Note: The entry plan (10GB) is below the recommended 16GB for stable Soulmask. Start on the 15GB or 20GB tier for a real group. LOW.MS allows upgrades at any time.

DatHost Bronze Pick 🇬🇧 London
EPYC 9754 · no RAM ceiling · auto-patch 15 min · 36 locations
£11.00/mo
Unlimited slots · EPYC 9754 · 768GB shared pool · 7-day refund
AMD EPYC 9754 768GB RAM pool 🇬🇧 London Unlimited slots Auto-patch 15 min 7-day refund

DatHost runs AMD EPYC 9754 hardware with up to 768GB RAM in their server pool — they explicitly state they never cap or throttle RAM usage, which makes them a strong choice for Soulmask’s unpredictable memory growth. As your world expands with explored chunks, built structures and active NPC tribes, RAM usage climbs steadily. DatHost’s shared-pool model means you’re not getting a billing surprise when usage spikes. Auto-patch within 15 minutes of a Soulmask update means your server is always on the latest version. At £11.00/mo with unlimited player slots and a 7-day refund, it’s excellent value for a long-running community server.

Pros
  • ✓ EPYC 9754 · 768GB RAM pool — no throttling
  • ✓ Auto-patch within 15 min of updates
  • ✓ Unlimited player slots
  • ✓ London UK + 35 further locations
  • ✓ 7-day refund · daily backups
  • ✓ 4.6★ Trustpilot (381 reviews)
Cons
  • ✗ Monthly price (£11.00) — annual plan gives better value
  • ✗ Shared RAM pool, not dedicated allocation

Host Havoc Silver Pick 🇬🇧 London
Best support · own hardware · Ryzen/Xeon · <10 min response
~£8.89/mo
Own hardware · 4.8★ from 1,515 reviews · London UK
Own hardware Ryzen / Xeon 🇬🇧 London <10 min support 4.8★ (1,515 reviews)

Host Havoc brings a different value proposition — their own physical hardware, a proven sub-10-minute support response average, and 4.8 stars from over 1,500 Trustpilot reviews. For UK clans running a community Soulmask server where uptime and fast human support matter more than cutting-edge specs, Host Havoc consistently delivers. They use Ryzen and Xeon CPUs with DDR4/DDR5 RAM across their network, operate from London UK, and offer TCAdmin v2 with full FTP access. Their track record across many survival games translates well to Soulmask.

Soulmask game modes: what actually works on dedicated servers

Most hosting comparison sites list all three modes as available on dedicated servers. This is incorrect. CampFire Studio confirmed in their official Steam Q&A that Tribe Mode and Warrior Mode are temporarily disabled for dedicated servers due to complex technical issues with the tech tree system.
✅ Survival Mode — Available now

The classic Soulmask experience — traditional survival with no hand-holding. Resource gathering, exploration and combat in a persistent world. This is the only mode currently available on dedicated servers. If you played during Early Access, this is the same mode. Supports PvE or PvP via launch flags.

⏳ Tribe Mode — Coming soon

Focuses on NPC management, automation, tribe progression and base building. Includes merchant events, reputation system, and Tribe Upgrade System with more aggressive invasions. Currently single-player and co-op only due to dedicated server tech tree conflicts — CampFire Studio has confirmed it will be enabled for dedicated servers in a future update.

⏳ Warrior Mode — Coming soon

Pure combat focus — more enemies, tougher AI, stripped-back survival friction. Players start with a blank character and starter gear kit. Base decay, offline raiding and item loss on death are disabled. Currently single-player and co-op only for the same technical reasons as Tribe Mode. Also confirmed for future dedicated server support.

PvP vs PvE on Soulmask servers

The PvE/PvP setting in Soulmask is set via launch parameters (-pve or -pvp). PvP servers can configure raid windows using RuQinBeginHour and RuQinEndHour in GameXishu.json — this restricts building damage to specific hours of the day, preventing offline raiding. Changing between PvE and PvP requires a server restart.

Running both maps: Cloud Mist Forest + Shifting Sands

Soulmask 1.0 ships with two full maps — the original Cloud Mist Forest (jungle/tribal) and the Shifting Sands DLC (ancient Egypt, airships). To allow players to travel between both maps, you need to run two separate server instances linked as a cluster:

// Main server (Cloud Mist Forest)
WSServer.exe Level01_Main -serverid=1 -mainserverport=8781 -Port=8777
// Child server (Shifting Sands)
WSServer.exe DLC_Level01_Main -serverid=2 -clientserverconnect=MAIN_IP:8781
// Required in GameXishu.json on BOTH servers
“KaiQiKuaFu”: 1
Before converting a standalone server to a cluster, back up your world.db file. Converting changes how account data is stored. This cannot be undone without restoring the backup.

Players travel between maps via an ocean portal on the mysterious island — they must use a controlled tribesman (not their initial character) to cross. Character level, masks and tribesmen carry across. Buildings and map-specific items (ships, Shifting Sands anchors) stay on the map they were built.

GameXishu.json — the config file

All deep Soulmask server tuning lives in WS\Saved\GameplaySettings\GameXishu.json — this file is created on first server boot. Worth knowing: the keys use Chinese pinyin names (it’s a Chinese-developed game), which surprises most Western admins. Most good managed hosts expose the most important settings through a web control panel so you don’t need to edit the raw file. Key configurable areas include XP multipliers, resource rates, invasion difficulty, tribe and taming limits, building decay, and the cluster cross-server toggle.

Soulmask server hosting UK — FAQ

The Soulmask dedicated server process consumes approximately 11–12GB of RAM on startup — before any players have connected. For a small friend group of 4–10 players, 16GB is the minimum you should buy. For 10–30 players or a world that’s been running for a while, 20GB is more appropriate. The memory usage grows over time as your world is explored, structures are built and more NPCs are active. Providers like LOW.MS offer explicit RAM upgrade tiers (10, 15, 20, 25, 30GB) so you can scale as needed. Do not trust any provider selling a Soulmask plan for £3–5/month — those plans almost certainly don’t include enough RAM to run the game.
Not yet — and this is something most hosting comparison sites get wrong. CampFire Studio confirmed in their official Steam Q&A (April 2026) that Tribe Mode and Warrior Mode are temporarily disabled for dedicated servers due to complex conflicts with the game’s tech tree system and mode-specific mechanics. Currently, only Survival Mode is available on dedicated servers. The developers have stated that Tribe Mode and Warrior Mode will be enabled for dedicated servers in a future update. For now, if someone in your group wants to try Tribe or Warrior Mode, they’ll need to do so in single-player or local co-op.
For a pure UK group, a London server will give you latency under 20ms — essentially imperceptible. A Frankfurt or Amsterdam EU server will give UK players roughly 40–70ms, which is fine for Soulmask’s co-op survival gameplay. The difference becomes more noticeable in PvP where reaction time matters. If your group is entirely UK-based, prioritise a London node. If you have players in France, Germany or the Netherlands, a central EU server may be the better compromise. LOW.MS (London), Host Havoc (London) and BisectHosting (London) all have confirmed London nodes.
You need two separate server instances linked as a cluster. The main server runs Cloud Mist Forest with -serverid=1 -mainserverport=8781, and the child server runs Shifting Sands with -serverid=2 -clientserverconnect=MAIN_IP:8781. Both servers need KaiQiKuaFu=1 set in their GameXishu.json files. Players travel between maps via the ocean portal on the mysterious island — they use a controlled tribesman (not their initial character). Character data, masks and tribesmen transfer across. Buildings and map-specific items stay on the map they were built. Back up your world.db file before setting up a cluster, as the account data storage system changes. Your hosting provider must support multiple server instances for the same account.
Soulmask supports up to 70 players per server, though the default cap set in the startup parameter is 20 (-MaxPlayers=20). Official documentation recommends 30–50 slots as optimal for most servers. You can increase this via the -MaxPlayers launch parameter. Performance degrades with higher player counts due to the NPC AI and world simulation overhead — more players means more entities tracked simultaneously. For a private UK tribe server, 10–20 players gives the best experience. For a public PvP server, 30–50 is a manageable sweet spot with adequate RAM (20–24GB). Pushing past 50 players requires carefully tuned server settings and at least 24–30GB RAM.
Soulmask hit v1.0 on 10 April 2026 after nearly two years in Early Access with 800,000+ players. The full release brings a refined survival experience alongside the massive Shifting Sands Egypt DLC — free to claim until 10 May 2026, then £14.81. The base game is £22.15 (£19.95 with launch discount until 24 April). It’s received Very Positive reviews on Steam and has a deep, active modding community via Steam Workshop. The tribe management and automation systems have no real equivalent in other survival games right now, making it particularly rewarding for organised UK clans who want a more strategic survival experience beyond just gathering and fighting.
