Valheim is a very popular survival game developed by Iron Gate in which you are a fallen Viking sent to prove yourself worthy to go to Valhalla or Valhall as we Scandinavians call it. During your quest to defeat all the bosses, you will encounter different kinds of enemies in the biomes and sometimes fight waves of them attacking your base.
List of Enemies & Monsters in Valheim
Here is a list of all the different enemies you will encounter and in what biome.
Enemies in the Meadows biome
The meadows are where you find the first boss Eikthyr.
In general, you will only face very low-level enemies in the plains biome and might run into boars who can hit you back but they rarely attack you. Other than that it’s just normal Greydwarfs. Sometimes enemies from the Black Forest Biome can spill out into the meadows.
- Greydwarf – A weak and common enemy that is found in the Meadows biome.
Enemies in the Black Forest biome
The black forest is the home to The Elder boss and where you will first encounter enemies that might be somewhat tough to deal with. In this biome the following enemies show up frequently:
- Greydwarf Brute – A tougher version of the Greydwarf that deals more damage and has more health.
- Greydwarf Shaman – A Greydwarf that can heal other enemies and blow green fire-like poison at the player.
- Troll – A large and powerful enemy that can regenerate health and throw rocks at players. (where to find trolls?)
- Skeleton – An undead enemy that is found in burial chambers and other underground areas. (these only occur in crypts in the black forest and ruins)
Enemies in the Swamp biome
In the Swamp biome you will face off against the boss Bonemass. This is a tough but necessary biome to explore since it gives you access to iron. This biome the following enemies inhabit:
- Skeleton – An undead enemy that is found in burial chambers and other underground areas.
- Draugr & Draugr Elite – An undead enemy that is found in sunken crypts and other watery areas.
- Blobs – A small and weak enemy that splits into smaller versions of itself when attacked.
- Surtlings – Fire-based enemies that are found in the Ashlands biome, this biome is still in the progress of being made and has not been released at the time of writing. But they can also be found in the swamp.
Enemies in Mountains Biome
In the mountain biome, you will fight the boss Moder, she is a flying dragon and there are more dragons and wolfs around the entirety of the mountain biome. Here are the enemies in the mountain biome:
- Wolf – A common enemy that is found in the Meadows and Mountain biomes.
- Fenring – A large and powerful wolf that is mainly found in the Mountain biome.
- Stone Golem – A large and powerful enemy that is found in the Mountain biome.
- Drake – A dragon-like enemy that is found in the Mountain biome.
- Ulv – A wolflike enemy that hits hard and can be found in the Mountain biome.
Enemies in Plains Biome
The plains biome is the latest addition to Valheim and you will fight the boss Yagluth here. The plains are a tough area where enemies hit hard, you will need good armor and weapons to deal with the enemies inhabiting the area.
- Deathsquito – A flying enemy that is found in the Plains biome.
- Fuling – A humanoid enemy that is found in the Plains biome.
- Lox – A large, peaceful creature that can be tamed and used for transportation.
